An entire bank’s internal sustainability academy

BancoEstado needed its sustainability strategy to stop living in a report and reach the people who serve customers. With ImplementaSur we designed its ESG Academy: a route of in-house courses covering financial inclusion, environment and climate, governance and climate transition risk, the last one using the UNEP FI framework and NGFS scenarios translated into the bank’s actual business. Before writing a single module we ran focus groups with their teams, because content nobody recognises as their own never gets finished.

A research fund that left published method behind

With Scotiabank’s Net Zero Research Fund and Universidad Ean we installed food labs in ten schools across Bogotá and Manizales, measuring the food, water and energy footprint of each one. What interested us was not the garden: it was knowing which practices actually lower the footprint, and being able to say so with data. The result was published as an open manual, so any institution can repeat it without hiring us.

Good practice manual published in 2024 with Universidad Ean, drawn from ten school labs.
